Overview

A 90 minute workshop on painting, led by a professional artist. Grab a drink, grab some food, and grab a paintbrush!

Join us for workshops every Sunday afternoon at Meander Art Bar, lead by experienced local artists. Classes are designed to suit all levels of experience. We provide all the supplies, all you need is you!

Meander Art Bar also has a delightful food and beverage menu, so come ready to eat and drink while you learn!

Register online to secure a spot and pay at the door. Walk-ins are welcome, but only pre-registered participants are guaranteed a spot.

Tickets are $25 for the painting workshop.

April:

Paint Your Own Pet: For pet lovers! We suggest that you bring a printed photo of your pet, black and white prints are ideal but not required. You'll learn how to sketch or trace your pet’s likeness, explore different painting styles, and use acrylics to create a unique portrait. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, you'll leave with a beautiful, frame-worthy piece of your furry (or feathered!) friend.

Fashion Watercolors: Unleash your inner fashion illustrator! Using fashion magazines and editorial images as inspiration, we’ll explore stylized figure drawing and expressive watercolor techniques. Learn how to capture movement, texture, and bold designs with loose, flowing brushstrokes. Perfect for anyone interested in fashion, illustration, or simply playing with color.

June:

Abstract with Wax and Watercolors: Let’s experiment! This playful class invites you to explore the unexpected interactions of wax, watercolor, and pen. Just pure creative flow! Learn how to layer, resist, and build texture with these materials while letting your intuition guide your abstract creations.

July:

Acrylic Still Life: Learn the fundamentals of still-life painting with acrylics! We’ll focus on composition, lighting, and color mixing while working from a beautifully arranged setup. Whether you prefer a bold, modern style or a soft, traditional approach, this class will help you develop your technique and confidence in acrylic painting.

August:

Make Your Own Postcards: Create mailable works of art! In this class, we’ll use acrylic or watercolor to design unique, hand-painted postcards that you can send to friends or keep as keepsakes. Learn simple yet stunning techniques to make your artwork pop while ensuring it’s durable for mailing. Walk away with an original, ready-to-send postcard!
