About this event

Travel & Outdoor • Hiking

Curious about birds and the incredible species we have here in the Pacific Northwest? Join professional naturalist and experienced birder Kate Brown for a relaxed Sunday morning bird walk at Whatcom Falls Park. We will chat about what to look and listen for while birding, discuss some of the common species we are likely to spot and what makes them unique- then meander the trails while birding and chatting. Bring your coffee, donuts, and any binoculars you might have (I own a few to share!) Species commonly sighted here include Barred Owls, Pileated Woodpeckers, Brown Creepers and Red-breasted Nuthatch.

Accessibility Note: We will be meeting at 1401 Electric Avenue, use the entrance to Whatcom Falls park directly across from Lafeen's donuts, and meet us at the picnic tables. The trails we will be exploring are mostly flat without much incline, and the trail surface is made up of hard packed dirt and gravel. There are bathroom facilities at the trailhead. Ages16+ (check back in, as I also host all-ages/family-friendly walks as well)
