About this event

Join artist Natalie Chanel for a hands-on cyanotype workshop that celebrates the art of printing with sunlight and nature. In this single-session experience, you’ll explore the historic photographic process of cyanotype to create striking blue-and-white prints on both paper and fabric.

Using foraged botanical materials and meaningful objects, participants will learn how to compose and expose cyanotypes outdoors, capturing delicate silhouettes and natural patterns. Through guided instruction and group discussion, we’ll touch on plant identification, flower pressing, and the creative legacy of early cyanotype pioneer Anna Atkins.

This workshop combines elements of nature observation, printmaking, and personal storytelling, offering a peaceful space to slow down and create. You’ll leave with a collection of finished cyanotypes and inspiration to continue experimenting at home.

No prior experience is needed. All materials are provided.

Things to Bring:

  • A few small flat objects (pressed leaves, lace, feathers, etc.)
  • Notebook and pen/pencil
  • A folder or sleeve to safely transport your finished prints
