Summer Coding Leadership Academy Demo Day 2025

About Demo Day:

Demo Day is the culminating event of our 10-week computer science and entrepreneurship program. Students share their hard work over the summer with community and technology industry leaders. This day emphasizes a critical element for success in a start-up: knowing how to pitch your product to investors. Demo Day is each student’s time to shine as teams present their technology start-up’s business plan and tell the story behind their product. At Demo Day, we see how significantly students have evolved over the summer. Students who had no idea about technology only weeks before speak confidently and answer tough questions about their product’s usability, profitability, and viability in the marketplace. Their public speaking and entrepreneurship skills are showcased before a crowd of 200+ community members and media. Tech industry judges evaluate each start-up’s product and presentation, selecting the top teams to win funding to continue developing their start-up. Historically, students have had their projects picked up by companies and can continue to work on their projects.

About Teens Exploring Technology:

Teens Exploring Technology strives to create a culture of technology leaders in South Los Angeles, where access to technology is extremely limited. We provide youths (7th-11th graders) the opportunity to be emerged in an intensive high-tech curriculum. Over fifteen weeks in the Summer Coding Leadership Academy students plan, design, and develop their very own web and mobile apps. We culminate with a Demo Day open to the local community, where students present their projects to judges. Following the conclusion of the summer program students take part in a Stanford College Tour, visit Silicon Valley, and the Google Headquarters in Mountain View.
