About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Trees provide more than just a beautiful landscape. You will learn about pruning, staking, mulching, pest management and more along with other tools and resources to continue your understanding.

John Thomasson began planting trees several years ago through his employer’s sustainability and community development initiative which grew into an educational program in local schools about the importance of trees in our local and world ecology. John serves on the Monroe Parks & Recreation Committee, the Monroe Union Breakfast Rotary & is a founding member of Trees Union, a 501(c)3 dedicated to maintaining and improving our tree canopy here in Union County. With Rotary and TreesUnion, he has managed education and planting projects involving the distribution or planting of more than 10,000 trees.
