Style and Substance - Honing the Technical Aspects of Your Writing
Sun, October 16, 2016, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM EDT
Over the course of two hours, Michael Matheson -- freelance editor, anthologist, and published fiction, poetry, and non-fiction writer -- will teach workshop attendants how to write and revise their work with an eye to the best uses of structure, connective tissue, pacing, flow, threading and seeding information to avoid infodumps, and the function of fabrication (layering broader discouse and intent into simplified terms and concepts). All with the goal of teaching attendees how to make their work tighter, more focused, and more polished.
Attendees are welcome to bring samples of their work to discuss during the workshop, and in-class discussion is actively encouraged. There will also be a Q&A following.
All attendees will receive a 10% discount coupon for same day purchases at Bakka Phoenix Books.
