Frequently asked questions

how many people will be there?

we limit study hall heroes to 10 guests to ensure an intimate and effective experience.

what do i need to bring?

bring your laptop, notepad, or whatever materials you need to work. if the group decides to forego ambient music, you're welcome to bring headphones and listen to your own music.

is there parking available?

yes, there is free parking available in the vapa center parking lot. additional street parking is also available nearby.

is there wi-fi?

yes, we provide complimentary high-speed wi-fi to all study hall heroes. the network name and password will be provided when you check in.

what if i have dietary restrictions or need snacks?

we have light snacks available, but you're welcome to bring your own. please be mindful of any noise when consuming them during focus blocks. there are also several cafes within walking distance for the longer breaks or you can place an order to be delivered during longer breaks.

what if i need accommodations?

we want to ensure everyone can participate comfortably. please let us know in advance if you need any specific accommodations, such as seating preferences or lighting adjustments, and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.

will there be music?

ambient music will be played only if everyone agrees. if not, feel free to use headphones for your own background music.

can i use my phone?

phones are not allowed during study hall and will be stored in a secure lock box during focus blocks. this helps maintain the focused atmosphere and prevents distractions for yourself and others. if you're expecting an important call, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate you.

how do the intervals work?

your host will guide the timed focus rounds and breaks. first, you'll pick your task, then work for 25 minutes. after that, you'll take a short break. this cycle repeats three more times before taking a longer break to recharge.

what is the pomodoro technique?

the pomodoro technique is a time management method that involves working in 25-minute intervals, called pomodoros, with short breaks in between. the technique is designed to help people stay focused and reduce mental tiredness.

what if i need to leave early?

you're welcome to leave during any of the scheduled breaks. please let us know at the start of the session if you plan to leave early so we can ensure minimal disruption.

is it really silent?

yes! we maintain a quiet environment to create a productive atmosphere where everyone can focus on their work while enjoying the benefits of shared space. feel free to chat during scheduled breaks or step into the hallway if needed, but please be mindful of others during focus time.

what's the cancellation policy?

due to the limited capacity for this experience, we do not offer refunds, but we understand that things come up. if you need to cancel, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance for a credit toward a future study hall session.
