📍 October 4, 2025 – Andi Renee Studios, Elkhart, Indiana

On October 4th, I’ll be in Elkhart, Indiana teaching a full-day portrait workshop at the beautiful Andi Renee Studios — a space with killer natural light and a full strobe setup. That means we’ll be exploring both natural and artificial lighting approaches, and how to work creatively with each.

This workshop is all about intentional portraiture — not chasing trends, but learning to see light, feel a mood, and shape both to fit your artistic vision. Whether I’m using the sun or a softbox, I approach every scene with the same mindset: How can this light serve the story?

Expect a mix of live demonstrations, hands-on shooting with a professional model, and open discussion. I’ll show you how I break down lighting decisions, control color and tone, direct models with purpose, and create images that go beyond just “technically correct.”

You don’t need to be a pro, but you do need to be ready to think, try, and ask questions. This isn’t about padding your portfolio with a few decent shots — it’s about building skills and perspective that’ll carry into everything you shoot.

So if you’re anywhere near northern Indiana (or want a reason to road trip), come hang for the day and let’s explore both sides of the light.

Space is limited, as always.

Workshop Etiquette & Participation Policy

This workshop is a hands-on educational experience, not a portfolio-building free-for-all. Please respect the flow of instruction and wait your turn to shoot. No sideline sniping, no shooting out of order.

Models work hard to help us create a professional environment, and their comfort and boundaries are non-negotiable. Any direction you give a model is entirely at her discretion. Her word is final.

The goal is to learn, ask questions, and grow — not to see how many shots you can take. Thanks for respecting the space, the process, and each other.
