Student Space Technology Conference
Overview
The Student Space Tech Conference, hosted by UT Knoxville's Student Space Technology Association and powered by Type One Ventures, is a national gathering of the country’s top emerging space technology talent. Taking place February 27–28, 2026, the event will bring 250+ students, engineers, founders, and industry leaders to the University of Tennessee campus. It is a student-run, high-impact event that blends technical competition, industry networking, and thought-leading discussion on the future of space technology.

Night 1 - Friday, February 27, 2026 (INVITE ONLY)
A private kickoff dinner at a Knoxville staple sets the tone for the weekend. Guests enjoy local cuisine, networking, and an opening keynote that introduces the conference themes. This will be reserved for students and select sponsors.
Day 2 - Saturday, February 28, 2026
Our day will begin at the Knoxville Convention Center with opening remarks, a keynote, the student project competition, and industry exhibits. After, we will move into UTK's Zeanah Engineering Complex for lunch and a packed day of panels, thought leadership, and student project demonstrations. The day will conclude in the early afternoon, and attendees will be dismissed.
Night 2 - Saturday, February 28, 2026 (INVITE ONLY)
Saturday evening, students will join at the Sunsphere for a city-view banquet and award ceremony for the project competition and project demonstration.
Invited industry guests and sponsors will convene at a celebrated dining venue for a more intimate networking dinner focused on founders, funders, and partners shaping the next wave of space innovation.
