Creating conversations and growing networks-Mary Maclachlan (SEBE)


A presentation on two initiatives which run within the Applied Computer Games department aimed at enhancing the student experience.

  1. The Annual 'Creating Conversations’ Student Conference which was introduced in 2016 to inspire and motivate level 3 students about the prospects of research within their discipline area and to provide a platform for level 4 students to enhance confidence in their work and gain experience of presenting to a wider audience.

The industry mentoring scheme allocates all final year students on the BSc Digital Design programme with an industry mentor to support them in their final year and in their transition to employment

All Student meet-An exercise in closing the feedback loop-David Hegarty (SHLS)


A one off event to demonstrate the impact of student voice on the BSc Programme to current students

Secondary Aims:

  1. To gather feedback on future student directed enhancements to the BSc Programme
  2. To foster a greater sense of community and responsibility on the BSc Programme across levels

To discuss the reasoning and justification for this event and the impact on student engagement.
