About the Exhibition

“Stuck: Exploring the Space Between Inspiration and Inertia” is a reflective and evolving exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Nzingah Oniwosan. It examines the delicate tension between creativity and stillness, the moments when inspiration fades, when the demands of survival overshadow artistic freedom, and when pausing becomes a form of transformation in itself.

Through a blend of completed works, unfinished pieces, and live creative sessions, Nzingah invites guests into her process, one that is deeply personal yet universally relatable. The exhibit captures what it means to be in a state of process as an artist, a creative, and a human being navigating the balance between purpose and possibility.

As both an artist and teaching artist, Nzingah explores the tug-of-war between nurturing others’ creativity and maintaining her own. Stuck invites you to witness that journey, and perhaps see your own reflection within it.

Opening Reception: Friday, October 24

7:00 PM – Doors Open / Artist Welcome
Begin the evening by exploring the exhibition and connecting with the artist. View completed works alongside unfinished and evolving pieces that reflect the ongoing nature of the creative process.

7:30–9:30 PM – Create, Chat & Chew
An interactive experience blending community, creativity, and conversation.

  • Create (7:30–8:30 PM): A guided artmaking session with Nzingah designed to help guests reconnect to their own creativity through intuitive, hands-on expression.
  • Chat & Chew (8:30–9:30 PM): An open mic–style community conversation about creativity, stagnation, and renewal, shared over light bites and genuine connection.

Ongoing Exhibition

From October 24 through November 9, Stuck will continue to evolve.
Throughout the exhibition’s run, Nzingah will be completing existing works and creating new pieces directly within the gallery. Visitors are encouraged to return to witness this transformation and to participate in moments of collective reflection and creative activation.

The exhibition will close with a final activation the weekend of November 9, offering an opportunity to reflect on the journey, the growth, and the beauty found within stillness.
