String of Light That Connects All Things (S.O.L.T.C.A.T.) offers a quiet invitation—to spend the first day of 2026 in connection with community and nature.
This temporary environmental installation is a way of focusing on the things that connect us. Inspired by Stonehenge, these portal-like forms are a way to frame and reframe your awareness of the beauty already there. Built in alignment with the stars, each steel form references a constellation. It’s a meditative way to think about the passage of time—a way to envision a continuous thread stretching back, connecting humanity through our rituals, the stories we share, the place we have within the cosmos, and our interconnectedness with the environment.
This project is made possible in part with The AoR microgrant from the City of Santa Monica's Cultural Affairs Office
