Transform Health, FIND, Fondation Botnar, PATH, PMNCH, PharmAccess and UNITE have the pleasure to invite you to a side event on “Strengthening the governance of health data”, taking place in Geneva on the margins of the 75th World Health Assembly.

Technology is rapidly changing the world we live in. Health systems around the world are becoming increasingly digitalised. If done right, this creates a huge opportunity to strengthen the delivery, quality and equity of health services. With this has also come a vast increase in the amount of health data that is collected and used. This has sparked the need for stronger and more equitable governance of that data to maximise public value whilst protecting individual rights.

The side event will bring together diverse stakeholder perspectives on why we need stronger governance of health data - including a global health data governance framework - as well as national perspectives on what can be done to advance this agenda. The recently launched equity and human rights-based Health Data Governance Principles (endorsed by over 80 organisations) will be presented during the event, which are a key step towards a global framework.
