Workshop: Fundamentals for Cycling Strength On and Off the Bike
Are you a cyclist who struggles with a sore neck, a "cooked" back, or hip pain after a long ride? Do you want to ride further, feel stronger, and enjoy your passion for years to come? This workshop is for you.
Join us at the bike shop for a hands-on workshop dedicated to the fundamentals of strength and conditioning for cyclists. We’ll cover the "why," "what," and "how" of off-the-bike training to help you ride your best.
What you'll learn:
- Mobility vs. Strength: We'll define what these mean and how they are crucial for every cyclist, from beginners to pros.
- The "Why": Discover how a small amount of strength training can improve your performance, reduce discomfort on the bike, and protect your body as you age. We’ll discuss the importance of bone density and muscle mass for longevity and injury prevention.
- The "How": Participate in a 30-minute practical session where we’ll go through simple, effective bodyweight exercises you can do anywhere to improve your cycling.
- The "When": Understand how to integrate strength training into your riding schedule, just like a professional cyclist.
Event Details:
- Date: Thursday, 7th November
- Time: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
- What to wear: Please come in active wear and closed-toe shoes if you wish to participate in the physical component of the workshop.
