Do I need to bring any tools?

No, we have everything that you'll need.

Do I need to attend Volunteer Orientation to volunteer at the Street Collective?

Yes, but. The "but" is that if you have already volunteered for the Collective for at least 10 hours, then you do not need to attend an orientation.

Can I attend an orientation if I've already been volunteering?

Yes! You're welcome to sign up for Volunteer Orientation and come learn with us. Who knows? You might gain some insight that helps you make the most of your time in the shop.

Learn about the Street Collective community bike shop, gain skills, (probably) eat donuts!

Want to help the Street Collective make Central Iowa a better place to ride, learn how to work on bikes, and make new friends, but don't know where to start? This is where you start!

Each month, the Street Collective will host a 2-hour Volunteer Orientation where we'll introduce you to the shop, talk about what we do, what we need, and cover basic mechanical skills to help you get the most out of your time at the shop.

There are a lot of bikes, parts, chemicals, and generally sharp or caustic things in the shop. Be sure to bring your closed-toe shoes and clothing you don't mind getting dirty.

We'll have snacks and drinks for everyone :)
