50% Cost-Share Funding is Available to Stabilize Eroding Streambanks on Your Property.

The Chagrin River Watershed Partners, Inc. (CRWP), in partnership with Cuyahoga, Geauga, Portage and Lake County Soil and Water Conservation Districts, have received a Great Lakes Basin Program for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control grant to provide partial funding assistance to landowners to stabilize eroding streambanks using bio-engineering techniques.

tices will use natural channel design and may include:

  • Grading unstable stream slopes
  • Planting woody vegetation to provide stability
  • Installing in-stream structures to slow down water
  • Installing tree revetments

Project funding will target:

  • Small streams in the following subwatersheds: Headwaters Aurora, Beaver Creek-Chagrin River, East Branch, Griswold Creek-Chagrin River
  • Areas with sediment and nutrient impairments

Funding available:

  • A cost-share of 50% (up to $100/linear foot)
  • Project goal is to stabilize 2,000 linear feet of streambank
  • Anticipate 5 to 9 cost-share contracts
