Overview

Join us in Strategies to Address Vicarious Trauma with Social Service Providers to Improve Outcomes for System-Involved Youth

Klasey Consulting is partnering with Lincoln Families to bring this training to Alameda, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras providers. Unfortunately, vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and moral distress are common in the social services and behavioral health fields. When individuals don't intentionally care for themselves, it can lead to burnout, premature departure from an organization, and more. It is crucial for providers to recognize these warning signs and are equipped with strategies to address them. This training will provide an overview of vicarious trauma, moral distress and compassion fatigue. We will discuss strategies to mitigate these by creating self care plans to be more resilient and compassionate. It’s essential for social service providers to prioritize our overall well-being so we can model it to the youth and families we work with.

Learning Objectives

1. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 sign of vicarious trauma

2. Participants will be able to create a plan of intentional self-care at work to improve outcomes of system-involved youth

Please note that in order to register for these free trainings you must be staff, caregiver or volunteer working directly with foster, adoptive or probation involved children, youth and their families in Alameda, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras only.
