Event description

Description

Every parent has stories that they tell their best friends, or post bits of on Facebook, or maybe keep buried deep inside because they're too ugly or embarrassing to share. Those stories matter, far beyond the typical mom blog (though I love those blogs, too)!

You will learn to tell your story, authentically and boldly. Find your voice, shape your story, and choose publications to submit to. I will help you share the words you don't normally share and maybe even get them published! We will use readings and exercises, learn basic editing techniques, and explore the local writing scene to find critique partners and writing groups that fit your needs!

About the Instructor: Hannah is a parent advocate and writer, focusing on using our stories to create change. Her essays have been featured in Washington Post's "On Parenting," Huffington Post, Arlington Magazine, Motherly, Bluntmom and more. Her short stories appear in Barren Magazine, Hobart, Lunch Ticket, and Scout Media's "A Flash of Words."

Scholarships are available for this workshop. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please send a few sentences about yourself, your goals as a writer, and an outline of how you would benefit from a scholarship through the contact form on our website. Learn more or be in touch at moonlitdc.com.
