Welcome to the Monterey Peninsula Center for Narrative Therapy Consultation Group. This group is designed as a peer-led space for therapists to engage in reflective conversations, share clinical dilemmas, and support one another in the spirit of narrative practice. We are committed to maintaining an atmosphere of mutual respect, confidentiality, and curiosity.
Group Intentions:
- Explore unique or challenging clinical moments
- Co-author therapeutic conversations
- Craft meaning-generating questions
- Identify unique outcomes and develop counter-story opportunities
This group is not supervision and does not provide legal or clinical oversight. It is a collaborative learning space underpinned by the ethical standards of CAMFT.
This group is designed for both licensed and pre-licensed practitioners interested in building on their established skill and experience as a therapist. But where many consultation groups are designed around clinical explanation, or the traditions of psychoanalysis or psychoeducation, this group is designed to help its members listen to the cases presented with an ear towards rich story development. We are coming together in the writer’s room to hash out ways to help tell the astonishing, perilous, inspiring, and magic stories of our client’s lives. This is a jargon free, experience centering community of practitioners interested in developing their clients’ stories.
Based on the principles and philosophies that undergird Narrative Therapy, this group will emphasize its members ability to represent their clients experience in meaningful and compelling ways.
