WHAT’S THIS ALL ABOUT?

Inspired by the Cake Picnic Tour, Stories & Slices is more than just a dessert party. It's a vibrant, community-powered experience where every guest brings a whole or half cake to share, and in return, gets to sample 8–12 glorious slices. Cakes can be homemade or store-bought.

HOW IT WORK:

  • Bring a cake you love.
  • Whole cake = 8 -12 slice access
  • Half cake = up to 8 slice access
  • Drop off your cake between 12:00–12:45 PM. Setup your cake and label it.
  • From 1:00 to 4:00 PM We mingle, swap stories, eat cake, and soak in the sugar and joy.
  • Cake boxes and forks will be provided. Just bring the cake and the stories.

SET THE TONE:

Invite your friends, share the story behind your cake, or let the flavors do the talking. Whether it’s grandma’s secret recipe or your favorite store gem, your cake has a place at our table. We’re here for flavor and connection, not perfection.

VIBE CHECK:

Chill music, come-as you are atmosphere. No pressure. No judging. Just people, cake, and connection.

Yes! We’ll provide forks, napkins, and cake boxes for you to collect your slices.

Yes, the Dayton Metro Library – West Branch is wheelchair accessible and has ample parking.

Can I arrive late or leave early?

To enjoy the full experience, please plan to arrive by 12:45 PM with your cake. Slicing begins shortly after, and late arrivals may miss out on the sharing.

Is the library affiliated with this event?

No. The library is not affiliated with this event and is not responsible for the cakes or activities. We're simply using the location as a meeting point.

Is there an age requirement to attend?

Yes. This is an 18+ event. Due to the nature of the gathering, no children will be permitted.
