About this event

Every third Saturday of the month, TMORA hosts a free family activity in the Robert J. Brokop Gallery. Join us to hear a story by a Russian author and/or related to art and culture of the region, learn about artworks, and create a take-home art project of your own. Afterwards, explore the museum with an interactive gallery hunt. Advance registration is requested.

Featured Book: The Black Geese: A Baba Yaga Story from Russia retold by Alison Lurie and illustrated by Jessica Souhami
You’ll see many Baba Yaga stories represented on objects in the exhibition The World of Russian Fairy Tales. In this suspenseful (but fun!) tale, Elena’s little brother is taken away by Baba Yaga’s geese, and Elena must face her fears to search for him in the great dark forest. Join us for a story about one of Russia’s most famous folk characters.
