About this event

Other

When we think of data, we often think of numbers such as number of people impacted, amount of money raised, or number of resources distributed. Yet words and stories are equally important components in understanding and communicating impact. Stories provide relatable human context for our work, demonstrating why the work is important and how it is making a difference.

In this event, participants will explore how stories and qualitative data can help us understand impact, and they will learn about how social sector organizations are integrating these strategies into their work.

Topics include:

  • The importance of qualitative data in understanding impact
  • The power of narrative and storytelling in communicating impact
  • Collaborative and community-centered strategies for telling stories with data

Featured speakers:

Laura Gulley, Chief Operating Officer, Generate Health

Ashley Moore, Evaluation Coordinator, Brown School Evaluation Center

Michael Pagano, Narrative + Communications Partner, Invest STL

Stories Count: Data Storytelling for Social Impact is hosted by Data for Social Impact, an initiative of the Center for Social Development at Washington University in St.Louis. Support provided by the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth.
