An Evening of Storytelling!
Get ready for a magical evening the whole family will love! Storied Vizcaya invites children and their grown-ups to step into a world of wonder where stories come to life under the stars. Set against the stunning backdrop of the historic Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, this one-of-a-kind event blends imagination, history, and hands-on fun in a night you won’t forget.
IMPORTANT | Orders with no child tickets will be canceled.
- Eventbrite fees are non-refundable. Each order must contain a Child, 6-12 ticket. Only parties contain children will be granted entry.
- Orders that do not include a “Child, 6-12” ticket may be subject to cancellation to maximize participation for families that include the intended age group.
- This program is designed for an outdoor experience on Vizcaya's waterfront terrace. The Main House will be closed.

ACTIVITIES + WHAT TO EXPECT:
📖 Live Storytelling Sessions: Join and listen to stories at 6:30 p.m. by The Children's Trust Book Club. At 7:00 p.m., gather around and listen as local authors read their books. Enjoy interactive tales filled with adventure, mystery, and heart—perfect for curious minds and big imaginations!
🎨 Hands-On Art Activities: Let your creativity shine with make-and-take crafts that connect with the stories and history of the community. Activities are presented by The Children's Trust Book Club.
🏛️ After-Hours Museum Exploration: Roam Vizcaya’s breathtaking gardens and waterfront location as the sun sets—see history from a brand-new perspective!
👫 Community Connections: Discover exciting local organizations and community partners through fun, family-friendly activities and booths.
🍕 Tasty Bites + Refreshing Drinks: Refuel with delicious food and beverages available for purchase throughout the night.

Prices: $15 for adults (13+), $5 for children (6-12), FREE for children (5 and under)

ABOUT THE AUTHORS:
Dr. Michael Woodward Jr., a Miami native, is making a meaningful impact in education and literature. A former elementary school teacher and now a professor at Barry University, Dr. Woodward is passionate about creating stories that reflect the diverse experiences of young readers, ensuring every child sees themselves represented in literature.
A dedicated educator, Dr. Woodward recently earned his PhD in Education while self-publishing an impressive 32 works. His most recent releases Young King & Young Queen are geared towards reminding young children of color of their royalty while affirming the greatness within them. This heartfelt companion story resonates with children and educators alike, reinforcing the power of imagery and representation in storytelling.

Sita Singh is an Indian American children’s author of award-winning picture books. Her works include Birds of a Feather, a Dolly Parton Imagination Library selection, and Mango Memories, a Gold medal winner at the Florida Book Awards.
Her upcoming titles are Let's Celebrate Diwali and Indigo Hands. Sita grew up in Ahmedabad, India, and moved to the United States just before the millennium. Her writing journey began while straddling the East and the West, when she realized that the experiences of families like her own were not reflected in the books her children were reading. Paola Barranco has been an environmental advocate since 2014. Paola has led sustainability projects across Latin America and the U.S. She holds a Circular Economy certificate from UC Berkeley and marketing and business degrees from institutions in Barcelona and Mexico City.Paola is the co-founder of Glass For Life (glass recycling in Miami) and a key collaborator in Compost For Life, Miami’s leading composting program. She created a Clay Composting Unit, helping over 2,000 households compost, and founded Zamá, an initiative that has reached 25,000+ people with hands-on sustainability education.
She is the author of three children’s books on ecology, including one co-written with Francisco Torres sharing the story of Compost For Life. Paola also led projects turning waste into homes, installing rainwater systems, and donating roofs made from recycled Tetrapak.
This program is presented in partnership with The Children's Trust Book Club, Miami-Dade Public Libraries and the Miami Book Fair.
