About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Step inside the Riester’s Hilltop House – Stone Quarry Art Park’s mid-century, artist-designed home – for the third evening of STONE + SCRATCH, a monthly series pairing artist talks with seasonal tastings and evolving interior installations.

This month features architect and scholar Lori Brown, who will share her project Birthing in Alabama: Designing Spaces for Reproduction and facilitate a conversation around the intersections of space, care, and equity in reproductive health. The event includes a panel discussion and an opportunity to walk through Brown’s outdoor installation on the grounds, where three birthing room footprints are demarcated in mowed grass.

A seasonal spread and wine will be prepared by Cazenovia-based chefs From Scratch, using ingredients sourced from nearby farms. Interior arrangements for the evening are curated by Patricia Christakos as part of her fellowship.
