Daliah Silver is a multi dimensional textile artist based in Chicago, IL focusing on hand made, hand stitched, folk based art and craft. In 2023 she was the Maker in Residence at the Chicago Public Library, teaching quilting classes to patrons and created a community quilt for the 150th anniversary of the library.  In 2024, she participated in a group show "Fiber of the Earth", a textile collection conveying the urgency of climate change at the Dittmar Gallery at NorthWestern University. In 2025 she has a quilt on display in a group show at the Chicago Fine Art Studio, is teaching a quilting class and curating a show at Color Club, and has established the Chicago Textile Center with her partner Kat Sampson, a local hub for textile community, learning, and sharing.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to bring my own materials?

No! All sewing materials (fabric, needles, thread, scissors, iron, batting) will be provided. However, you are encouraged to bring your own special-to-you fabric to incorporate into your piece, or hop on over to The Wasteshed across the street!

Do I need to bring my own picture?

We will have magazines on hand for anyone who didn't bring one, but you'll love identifying the colors in a photo meaningful to you, so it's highly encouraged!

What is the Chicago Textile Center? I've never heard of it!

We're brand new! A local hub for community, learning, and sharing, Chicago Textile Center strives to be a resource for all Chicagoland textile artists, shops, and studios. We have pop ups all over the City this summer, be sure to check us out!

Can I bring my kids?

Of course! We love a family event - please ensure children are supervised at all times, as we are using adult level equipment, such as sharp needles and hot irons.
