‘Capturing Skills’
This event is a taster for our Annual Conference to be held in Stirling in October 2025 on the subject of 'Narratives and memories of industrial work and heritage'. More details to follow.
The Spring Event will hear from three speakers:
Frank McElhinney is a visual artist based in Scotland. His work investigates migration, nationhood and mortality. He works with different media but photography is foremost in his practice. Frank will be talking about 'The Nature of Ravenscraig'.
Andy Clark, Senior Lecturer in History, Stirling University. Andy will be talking about ‘The voice of industry: the role of oral history in capturing skills’
Catherine Cartmell, Skills Investment Plan Manager at Historic Environment Scotland. Catherine will be discusing the Skills Investment Plan (SIP) and Craft Your Career. The Skills Investment Plan for the Historic Environment is a sector-wide skills strategy that aims to ensure that Scotland has the skills it needs to promote, manage and protect our historic environment.
