Join us for a Coffee House musical evening with "Steve Ross & Friends," featuring Ron Spivak, Michael Graetzer, and Jean Brassard on Wednesday, October 12th at 6:15pm. Please note the earlier start time to accommodate a longer program.

In this program, Steve's "friends" will be composers and lyricists. All of the songwriters are music-makers whom Steve is happy to call friends, or at least friendly acquaintances—both those still on the stage and those who have left it.

The show will be followed by dinner in the downstairs dining room. Both prix-fixe and a la carte menus will be available to order from. And please join us for drinks before the program—the bar opens at 5:30pm.

The “Crown Prince of New York Cabaret” is what Steve Ross was dubbed many years ago. He hasn’t lost his title. In fact, the only change today would be dropping “New York.” In the past decade alone Steve has performed around the country and around the world in every kind of venue – from Rio de Janeiro to Sydney, from Carnegie Hall to Lincoln Center and from cabarets to theaters.

Ron Spivak is a performer, lyricist / librettist, and a musical theatre historian. Regionally, he has played leading roles in Man of La Mancha, Company, Damn Yankees, Guys & Dolls, and numerous other plays and musicals. He has also written and performed—as narrator and singer—the symphonic concerts Bravo to Broadway, Richard Rodgers Re-vued and The Noisy Intermission (the last with composer Michael Valenti) with major orchestras across the country. He co-starred in his two-man revue It's Better With a Baritone, and in several shows at 54Below. Ron is currently writing the book and lyrics for two musicals with renowned Japanese composer Michiru Oshima.

Michael Graetzer is a singer, guitarist, and composer. He completed the songwriting program at Berklee College of Music, and served as a judge for the 2000 USA Songwriting Contest. He is a 2001 Nashville Songwriting Association International award winner. He has written and performed with Broadway legend Peter Howard aboard QE2 and QM2 cruise ships. He also appeared on the nationally syndicated Joey Reynold's Show (WOR), Fox News, and even on a national TV broadcast in Japan to perform his song "Wakaranai" (about not understanding Japanese). He also wrote and performed the 70th birthday event song for Gelek Rimpoche (renowned Tibetan lama).

Hailing from Quebec City, Jean Brassard has been enjoying the life of a New Yorker for a few decades and has carved himself a place in the performing arts and entertainment world. Most recently, Jean was part of the acclaimed Hulu series RAMY, the EMMY Award winning series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and Showtime's "Escape at Dannemora," with Patricia Arquette, directed by Ben Stiller. A 2012 Bistro and AGGIE awards recipient and MAC nominee for his tribute "The Kid From Paris - Jean Brassard Sings Yves Montand," co-written with and directed by David Krueger, Jean has published two albums. In the Spring of 2019, Jean created the cabaret-theater piece "Voyage en Chanson," to inaugurate Brooklyn's National Sawdust new cabaret series. In October of the same year, he embarked on a new journey to salute Charles Aznavour's treasures in "I Have Live," performed at The Pheasantry in London and Pangea in NYC.
