About Steve Padilla:

Steve Padilla, a longtime editor with the Los Angeles Times, has edited a wide variety of subjects—international affairs, presidential elections, higher education and religion among them. (He has also edited his fair share of weather stories.) He currently works with reporters based in Mexico and the Middle East and edits Column One, the Times' showcase for narratives and storytelling. He serves as a writing coach, lectures frequently on writing and devotes his X feed, @StevePadilla2, to writing technique.
