Join us for an engaging Workshop on STEP UP Women in Physics: This workshop is designed specifically for educators teaching physics during the 2025-2026 school year. The research-based lesson (link) delves into the underrepresentation of women in physics and the role of implicit bias and cultural stereotypes. Students participate in an interactive presentation to discuss data about women in physics and the role of culture and society. The lesson is applicable and open to use with all students to encourage the pursuit of an undergraduate degree in physics.
One or two of our STEP UP Ambassadors and PhysTEC leads will facilitate this workshop and provide valuable insights on effectively implementing the lesson in classroom settings and remote teaching environments.
Please note that this workshop is tailored for classroom instructors (pre-service, in-service and post-secondary) and aims to cater specifically to their needs and interests. If you are a non-classroom educator or administrator interested in learning more about the lessons please contact us via stepupphysics@aps.org for a separate discussion.
