Culturally relevant PBL can provide a bridge to STEM education for underrepresented populations. Low-income students are 10 times less likely to attain a STEM degree than their upper income peers. Reasons for this include limited exposure to STEM pathways and mentorship. This session will take a journey on how to generate interest and excitement in STEM topics and careers and support STEM career achievement persistence through Project Based Learning.
