S.T.E.A.M Saturday: Making Map Collages

By Lewis Latimer House

Overview

Create community maps and explore cartography and cultural memory!

How might you use art to represent the places that matter the most to you? Join educators from the Lewis Latimer House as we explore cartography, the science of map making, and cultural memory with artist and urban planner Cara Michell! We'll create our own collective community maps that combine drawing, collaborative storytelling, and collage techniques.

STEAM Saturdays at LLH are free events, open to all ages and abilities, that feature a hands-on activity, a family-friendly scavenger hunt, and self-guided tours. Drop in any time between 12PM - 4PM! Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
