STEAM Pathways Connect Pop-up; Monthly, January Spotlight >> Leatherman Tool <<

Current and future STEAM Pros IGNITE AND INSPIRE via monthly accessible "Pop-up" engagements that bring together current community professionals at their workplaces and the next generation of learners (children/students thru college) through on-site tours and explorations of various STEAM topics.

The goal is to provide learners with exposure to industry and career opportunities in a "take your kid to work day" style. "Big kids" and next gen pros welcome - build relationships and future together.

Join us in January to learn about Manufacturing, Design, and Engineering careers with Leatherman Tool Group!

The goal of this POP-UP is to learn about Product Development, Engineering, and Manufacturing careers. We will talk to current STEAM Pros who are responsible for designing, building, and perfecting the world-renowned Leatherman multi-tools.

We will tour their Portland manufacturing facility, explore the fabrication and assembly process, and begin to understand the education and career pathways for these STEAM professions. This is a chance to see American ingenuity and craftsmanship in action!

Agenda:

  • 4:00 pm - Arrivals at Leatherman Tool - "South" building lobby
  • 4:15 pm - Welcome, Introductions
  • 4:30 pm - Tour of the Leatherman facility and manufacturing floor exploration
  • 5:00 pm - Q&A & learn career pathways of current STEAM Pros in Design, Engineering & Manufacturing
  • 5:30 pm - Wrap

Important: no loose clothing, no open toe shoes
Two Waivers:

1) Waiver and Release Form for Leatherman Tour - Please print, sign and bring with you to the event

2) Waiver and Release Form for STEAM Pathways - ALL participants required to agree to Waiver and Release and provide signed copy of form.


IMPORTANT: This event has a strict capacity limit of 20 attendees (including students and accompanying adults) due to facility constraints at Leatherman

Register: Complete the registration form below. Due to the limit, registering does not guarantee a spot.

Confirmation Call: We will be calling/texting/emailing all confirmed families 1-2 days before the event to ensure attendance and finalize the guest list. If we cannot reach you, your spot may be offered to the next person on the waitlist.

Waitlist: Please register even if the event appears full. We highly recommend adding your name to the waitlist, as we will call waitlisted families in order to fill any last-minute cancellations or if we are able to increase our capacity.
