This workshop is designed as a collaborative forum for researchers with interests in ecology, statistics, or both.

About this Event

The first SMEE two days workshops will be held at the Montaury Campus at Anglet during September 26th-27th 2019. This workshop is designed as a collaborative forum for researchers with interests in ecology, statistics, or both. It includes keynote presentations, tutorials, invited oral presentations and contributed presentations.

The first day conference offers a half-day short course on spatio-temporal modelling with R.

This morning short-course is presented by Noel Cressie based on his new book (Wikle, C.K., Zammit-Mangion, A., Cressie, N. (2019). Spatio-Temporal Statistics with R. Chapman & Hall/CRC). The book is available for download for free from https://spacetimewithr.org/

The afternoon will be dedicated to a series of talks across topics such spatio-temporal modelling

Friday 27

The second day offers a computer-based tutorial on Random Forest with R.

This morning tutorial is running by Robin Genuer based on his new book "Les forêts aléatoires avec R" (Random Forest with R ).

The afternoon will be dedicated to a series of talks across topics such machine learning methods for Environmental Data.

Registration are free but compulsory for gathering purposes (coffee break, ...), note that lunch are not provided.

The number of participants is limited to 50.

Workshop starts at 9.15 am

Contributed presentations

Presentations will be 25 minutes in length, including a couple of minutes for questions at the end.

The submission process requires:

- a title

- an abstract (only PDF file is accepted, 1200 characters at maximum)

- key words (additional topics that you feel are also related to your submission)

Submission has to be sent by email to benoit.liquet@univ-pau.fr with the subject "contributed talk SMEE 2019".
