About this event

Government • Non-partisan

We invite you to join Cleveland VOTES and the Cleveland Power Alliance for State of Our Democracy: Reverse Town Hall. Hosted at Trinity Cathedral Episcopal Church, this event allows community leaders to take the mic, while candidates running for office pause to listen, learn, and engage.

In typical town hall structures, the candidates speak to residents, whereas this event invites them to hear directly from the people. This unique style of engagement is designed to center the voices of the public, with the goal of ensuring that those seeking public office hear directly from the people they wish to represent, especially voices that are often overlooked in traditional campaign settings.

What to expect?

Attendees will hear from community members who will elevate the (4) Pillars identified in the Cleveland Power Alliance’s Policy Agenda. Each community member will discuss why the particular policy priority is important to them and for Cleveland, followed by a Q&A where attendees and candidates may ask questions. Please note that this moderated discussion aims to ensure that we create a respectful and inclusive environment for constructive dialogue.

Doors for this event open at 5:30 pm, and refreshments will be available after. There will be opportunities to network and engage with candidates before and after the discussion.

Please note: Entrance to the event will be through Trinity Cathedral’s back parking lot, located at 2333 Prospect Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44115. The front doors facing Euclid Avenue will be closed.
