Starting Together: Intention, Ease & Connection for the New Year
Overview
Starting Together is a New Year’s Day offering designed as a gentle, human way to enter the year, with space for nature, nourishment, reflection, sound, rest, and meaningful connection. Rather than a single all-day commitment, this experience is made up of a series of intentional gatherings you can join at your own choosing.
You’re welcome to spend the entire day with us or drop into the experiences that call to you. Each offering stands on its own while also flowing naturally into the next, creating a supportive arc from quiet arrival to rest and integration.
The day unfolds across three nearby locations: Mead Gardens, Colonialtown Square, and The Urban Ashram. All locations are within approximately two miles of The Urban Ashram, making it easy to move between offerings while enjoying a change of scenery throughout the day.

How do you want to get there?
Listen: Silent Nature Walk at Mead Gardens
WHERE: Mead Botanical Garden -1300 S Denning Dr, Winter Park, FL 32789 (We'll meet by the covered picnic tables to the right as you drive in.) We’ll begin the day slowly, together, with a quiet walk through Mead Gardens. This is an invitation to start the year by listening with your entire body. Listen to the sounds of nature, the rhythm of your steps, and whatever is gently present within you. As we walk, you connect with the trees, the air, your heartbeat. You’re welcome to notice light, movement, breath, and sensation or simply enjoy being outside with other beings and without the pressure of having something to say. This is about being. We’ll close the walk with a simple moment of reflection, grounding, and optional sharing before heading on to the next part of the day... breakfast!
Nourish & Gather: Pancakes and Connection at The Urban Ashram
WHERE: The Urban Ashram - 310 E New Hampshire St, Orlando, FL 32804 After the quiet of the gardens, we’ll shift into warmth, food, and friendly connection. This is a time to enjoy eating together, sharing space, and easing into conversation at a natural pace. Pancakes and hot tea will be served. You’re invited to relax, chat, listen, or simply enjoy being around others without any pressure to participate in a specific way. This is casual, cozy, and welcoming. Come as you are.
Step: Labyrinth Meditation at Colonialtown Square
WHERE: Colonialtown Square - 820 N Fern Creek Ave, Orlando, FL 32803 The labyrinth offers a simple, powerful way to engage intention through movement. Unlike a maze, there’s no wrong turns, just a single winding path in and back out again, inviting presence and reflection with each step. Michelle Orwick, Spiritual + Earth Activator, will be your magical guide. You'll first learn about labyrinths, mindfulness, and how to leverage this powerful moving meditation for the New Year. While a clear approach will be offered, you’re welcome to walk with a quiet question, a feeling, or no agenda at all. Some people use the labyrinth to release, others to clarify, others to move slowly with awareness. All approaches are welcome. This practice offers a gentle midpoint in the day; grounding, reflective, and deeply regulating.
