Starting Line for Hope
A 5K Fun Run/Walk Supporting Foster Youth on Their First Day in Care
No child should walk into foster care feeling afraid or alone.
At The Light House, our vision is to change that—starting from day one.
Join us for Starting Line for Hope, a community fun run and walk dedicated to raising awareness and funds for foster youth entering care. While we don’t yet have our “First Day” home, your steps help bring us closer to opening the doors of a safe, welcoming space where children can feel comforted, supported, and seen from the moment they arrive.
👟 Whether you run, walk, or stroll with a team, your participation shines a light on the needs of children navigating a life-changing transition—and helps build the future we’re working toward.
💛 100% of proceeds go toward our goal of creating a physical home and expanding programs for emotional support, life skills, and healing for kids in foster care.
Come move with purpose. Let’s take the first step—together.
Registration is $40/runner, $30/Teen, $20/Child/65+yrs old. For a family of 4 - $100. Everyone that decides to run, will need to be registered. We encourage teams!
Our theme is to walk or run in the shoes of foster children.
All runners for our main race will need to bring a backpack with items for foster children's "First Day" packs. These will include toiletries, blankets, clothing, shoes, etc. Anything you can think of a child might need for their first day in a new home. During the race, runners will be wearing these to imatate what the kids go through for that first day. At the end of the race these will be donated to the kids in foster care in the Denver Metro Area.
Don't forget to bring your friends and family!
