Shellz is an expert loctician with over 20 years of experience in the natural hair industry. She began perfecting the art of starting locs at just 13 years old and has since dedicated her career to helping others embrace and care for their natural hair.

As the founder of LocsByShellz, Shellz developed her own loc oil and moisturizer to nourish the scalp, promote hair strength, and rejuvenate locs. Her LocsByShellz Hair Moisturizer and LocsByShellz Loc Oil Treatment are trusted by clients and locticians alike for maintaining healthy locs.

Shellz started as a solo loctician in 2020, building a strong reputation for her craft and dedication to hair health. In 2024, she expanded her business and opened Locs By Us in Quincy, MA, a full-service salon operating by appointment only. She now manages a team of four skilled locticians, offering high-quality services and mentorship to up-and-coming stylists.

Diagnosed with stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer in January 2024, Shellz is still in active treatment while continuing to raise awareness through public speaking, music, and entrepreneurship. She has been featured on NESN and has performed the national anthem for the Boston Red Sox during the Jimmy Fund Telethon (2024). Her advocacy work includes delivering a speech at Arbella Insurance’s Pink Day (2024) and speaking at numerous schools, inspiring students and professionals through her breast cancer awareness talks and mentorship for locticians.
