Course Description:

Clinicians need to be educated on the current trends and techniques in instrument assisted soft-tissue mobilization as a manual therapy (IASTM) tool.

At the conclusion of this course, participants will have the ability to define the corresponding terminology, principles, patterns and benefits related to the Graston Technique (GT) as an IASTM. The participant will determine when to apply these techniques in order to provide the patient population with the most successful outcomes by assisting patients to return to their prior level of function by restoring tissue extensibility.

Learning Objectives:

Identify the different types of tools, proper application, purpose and objectives while utilizing Graston Technique/IASTM.
Implement proper usage of the instruments/tools on various patient populations and injuries.
Determine indications/contraindications, patient progression and physiological effects of the treatment.
Apply the GT/IASTM to therapeutic exercises to obtain the most successful outcomes.
