Starlight at Camp Bridges: An Intimate Evening with Ruby Bridges
Overview
About Camp Bridges
Launched in 2025 in Northeastern North Carolina, Camp Bridges is a Ruby Bridges Foundation program that brings children together across regions and backgrounds to build confidence, leadership, and lasting connections. Through outdoor adventure, the arts, service, and reflection, campers learn to listen, lead, and bridge differences.
What began here on the Outer Banks is growing into a model for unity and youth leadership nationwide. Your presence at Starlight at Camp Bridges helps open more seats for local OBX youth and expand opportunities for campers from across the country.

About Ruby Bridges
Ruby Bridges is a best-selling author, Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, and one of the most recognized figures in American history. At just six years old, she became a national symbol of courage when she integrated an all-white elementary school in New Orleans in 1960, an act immortalized in Norman Rockwell’s 1964 painting The Problem We All Live With.
Over six decades later, Ruby continues to inspire through the Ruby Bridges Foundation, advancing empathy, education, and unity among young people across the nation. Her story has been told in books, films, and classrooms around the world, reminding us all that even the smallest child can be a powerful force for change.
