Stardust & Roots is a social-emotional acting & improv workshop for teens (ages 9–17). Build confidence, resilience, and authentic connection while learning that performance—and life—is a practice, not a product.
Detailed Overview (About This Event)
Confidence. Resilience. Connection.
Today’s teens face intense pressure—from anxiety, disconnection, and the push to be “perfect.” Stardust & Roots offers something different: a safe, creative space where they can build confidence, discover their voice, and connect with others through the power of acting and improv.
Built on the 5 Core Competencies of CASEL, this 8-week workshop blends theater and social-emotional learning to help teens thrive both on stage and in life.
🌙 The First Half: Self-Awareness & Self-Management
- Original exercises combining Method Acting and Linklater Voice Work
- Stress relief, presence, and authentic self-expression
- Freeing the inner voice to speak and be heard
🌙 The Second Half: Relationship Skills & Social Awareness
- Collaboratively devising an original performance inspired by poetry and storytelling
- Using improvisation to build creativity, trust, and empathy
- Learning to take creative risks while supporting one another
🌙 Responsible Decision-Making
At its core, this workshop is about fostering a desire for meaningful connection. When teens feel grounded in who they are and where they belong, they feel empowered to show up fully—in school, friendships, and their communities.
