Standard Issue is a London-based new music collective dedicated to creating inclusive spaces to hear, see, and take part in contemporary and experimental music.
In 2024, Standard Issue were the inaugural Ensemble in Residence at Sound and Music’s In the Making Programme, where they worked with young composers to help them develop their compositional voices and presented workshops on experimental performance practice. They have worked with groups such as Her Ensemble, Ensemble Modern, Muscarc Choir, Music We’d Like to Hear, and have been featured on BBC Radio 3’s New Music Show.
Standard Issue are joined on this tour by Ollie Hawker, a Glasgow-based composer and musical saw player, to perform What I thought I knew to be true was not! But I still love it. a new piece commissioned for saw and ensemble by the Marchus Trust and Creative Scotland.
