Stadia Accelerator :: Demo Day :: Spring 2016 Cohort
Date and time
Location
Gateway Motorsports Park
700 Raceway Blvd Madison, IL 62060Description
Our vision of the global Sports Innovation Hub continues to be reinforced. Every day, we see and hear stories of our talented entrepreneurs connecting with the most innovative sports industry leaders from around the world while investors who are looking for investment opportunities jump in knowing they will see legitimate returns.
Within our first full year, we have proven the power of the hub (heck, we've already had our first successful exit in our 7th month of operation).
For our Spring 2016 cohort, we invested in five of the best established sports startups in N. America.
They are leaders in sensory assessment and training tools, boating platforms, league platforms, video/audio streaming, and an algorithm for accurately picking games for sports enthusiasts. They come from Portland, Charleston, New York City, Washington DC, and Scottsdale. They all have products in market and are generating revenue.
After guiding the founders through an immersive, 12-week business development boot camp and surrounding them with some of the best sports business talent as mentors, we are now ready to unveil their "accelerated" businesses.
---------------------------
In addition to our cohort's investor pitches, we will have a tremendous panel on Sports+Investing.
:: SPORTS + INVESTING PANEL ::
- Demian Costa, Managing Partner for Sagamore Ventures
- Steve Griffin, Founder & Partner for G5 Capital
- Akshay Khanna, Director of Strategy for the Philadelphia 76ers and Founding Partner/Member of Board of Governors for the76ers Innovation Lab
- Collin Meador, Lead Analyst for San Francisco 49ers Ventures
There are so many investment opportunities out there. How do the experts look at the sports business landscape and the opportunities? How has it evolved and become more sophisticated? Where is it heading? We'll hear from the folks in the trenches including those who represent Kevin Plank (founder, UnderArmour) and the DeBartolo/York family (owner, San Francisco 49ers), the guy helping to create the Philadephia 76ers Innovation Lab and sports fund, and the guy who solely invests in sports startups and businesses including Perfect Game.
---------------------------
We are excited to host our Spring 2016 Demo Day with our friends at the Gateway Motorsports Park. What better place to host our graduation and celebration event than in the shadows of the grandstands of a professional racetrack.
---------------------------
Immediately after the event, we will enjoy lunch where our cohort founders will demo their products and discuss their business and investment opportunities.
---------------------------
Free parking will be located at the track next to the main entrance.
