Please park at the Allerton Park Retreat Center parking lot. This is the largest paved parking lot in the park set back from Old Timber Rd. The event is located north of the parking lot, across Old Timber Road. Look for the ‘Savanna Institute’ signs!

Need a bike to ride in Champaign-Urbana? Check out: https://bike.illinois.edu/resources/where-to-get-a-bicycle/ Please wear a helmet and have bike lights if traveling by bicycle to the farm.

Restrooms are available in a brick building, adjacent to the parking lot: https://allerton.illinois.edu/the-gardens-map/

We will be walking on uneven terrain for about an hour. Bring a chair if you would like to spend time sitting at the beginning or end of the event.

What to Bring? What to Wear?

Please dress for the weather and to keep yourself comfortable (weather appropriate clothes, sun protection, closed-toed shoes). Long pants are recommended because of tall grass and bugs.

The tour group meets at the farm entrance across the street (north) from the Retreat Center parking lot. Look out for a tall white banner flag!
