Description

Please join SSF to raise money for The BLOCK Project to build 2 BLOCK Homes for currently unsheltered people in our community.

The BLOCK Project, managed by nonprofit Facing Homelessness, builds small-format and off-grid homes in residential backyards for those living unsheltered. Their vision is to build 500 homes by the end of 2022, and eventually to build one on every residential block in Seattle.

Come hear founder and creative director, Rex Hohlbein, share information about this global movement to end homelessness through community.

"Emotional and physical separation from those who are homeless allows us to get stuck on the complexity of the issue. By literally saying, “Yes, in my backyard,” we shift the paradigm. We bring relationship into the center of our lives and communities. The BLOCK Project represents an innovative leap forward on the issues of homelessness, cross-class integration, sustainable living, and architectural design. We believe it will create a grassroots movement to end homelessness." Rex
