The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Environmental Specialist Tommy Nordmann for a 2.5-mile hike in Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve. Along the way, participants will learn to identify native plants and wildlife and enjoy spectacular views of Spruce Creek from the bluffs above.
** Important note: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program. Waivers can be downloaded at Explore Volusia and completed ahead of time.

ACTIVITY: This will be an easy to moderate hike with short climbs.
RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, you are not registered.
TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.
AGES: Ages ten and up are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
ATTIRE: closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing for the outdoors
** Some of our trails have mud and/or standing water because they are located in wetland ecosystems and because of seasonal rains and high tides. We recommend you bring a pair of waterproof boots in addition to your regular hiking shoes if you don't want your shoes to get wet. Our hike leader will let you know the condition of the trails prior to the start of the hike.
WHAT TO BRING: water, bug spray, sunscreen
FACILITIES: There is a port-a-let on site but no running water.
