This Open House and Tour offers a rare opportunity to visit the historic grounds of this turn-of-the-century California hotel. Enjoy an afternoon viewing the public rooms of the Hotel Green, a City of Pasadena Historic Landmark. Converted to the Castle Green Apartments in 1924, you will also have the opportunity to get a glimpse into selected, private apartments. Gates will open at 12:00pm and the event concludes at 4:00pm. RAIN OR SHINE.
Come and see the new glass reproduction shades from funds raised from previous Friends of the Castle Green tour.
The event features historic lectures about the building, and participants can also be entertained by music from the Solid Senders jazz trio, and watch plein air artists in action! Shopping will be available from local, artisan vendors.
Guests will learn more about this important local landmark and see the newly completed historic project of the Friends of the Castle Green—hand blown, opaline glass shade reproductions adorning the Verandah, made by renown glass artist, Janusz Pozniak.
Light refreshments will be served; however, we encourage guests to bring a blanket and a picnic lunch (no alcohol permitted) to take in the relaxing views.
Friends of the Castle Green is a non-profit 501c (3) organization dedicated to preserving and restoring the historic integrity of Old Pasadena’s iconic Castle Green.
Ticket price:
- $50.00 per ticket from 1 June 2023 to the day of event.
