Welcome, Announcements, and Events
We'll welcome new members and introduce everyone. We'll provide information on the American Sewing Guild and the Northern Virginia Chapter, and discuss upcoming events, such as sewing retreats and workshops.
Presentation
During this time, the presenter will discuss some sewing topic or demonstrate some technique to the attendees. Presentations may include slides, hand-outs, samples, or hands-on activities, such as hand-sewing, touching fabric samples or garment details, and practicing new skills. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions to deepen their understanding. In some sessions, there may be interactive elements such as group projects, collaborative brainstorming, or sharing personal sewing experiences.
Sew and Tell
Sew and Tell is an engaging and interactive event where sewists of all levels gather to showcase their latest projects, share their creative process, and exchange ideas. Participants bring completed or in-progress sewing projects and present them to the group, highlighting unique techniques, fabric choices, and design elements. This collaborative atmosphere fosters a sense of community and allows attendees to learn from each other’s experiences. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions, offer feedback, and celebrate each other’s achievements. Whether you’re looking for inspiration, seeking advice on a challenging project, or simply want to connect with fellow sewing enthusiasts, Sew and Tell provides a supportive and motivating environment to nurture your passion for sewing.
