Sponsored Charity Walk: Breidden Hill & Rodney's Pillar
Overview
Join us for a scenic Sponsored Charity Walk in support of the 4 All Foundation. The route begins and ends at Criggion Village Hall, taking approximately 2 hours to complete. The entry fee is £30 per person, which includes a keepsake medal and refreshments at the finish. Dogs are welcome, making it a perfect day out for everyone!
The walk takes you up the Breidden Hill range, a striking volcanic landscape that rises over 1,200 feet and offers breathtaking views across Shropshire and Wales. Along the trail, you’ll pass the remains of an ancient hill fort, thought to be where Caractacus made his last stand against the Romans. At the summit stands Rodney’s Pillar, a monument built in 1782 to commemorate Admiral Rodney’s naval victory over the French.
The area also features nearby peaks such as Middletown Hill (1,195 ft), home to the ancient camp Cefn-y-Castell, and Moel-y-Golfa, the highest of the trio at 1,324 ft, cloaked in beautiful woodland.
Come enjoy stunning views, fascinating history, and community spirit—all while supporting a fantastic local cause.
