About this event

Spirituality • Christianity

This series of retreats will focus on the life and writings of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, a Jesuit mystic and scientist. The first retreat will concentrate on his writings during the First World War with an emphasis on "The Mystical Milieu." The second retreat will feature a detailed analysis of his celebrated "Mass on the World" written during his days as a paleontologist in China. The third retreat will explore his classic work of spirituality, "The Divine Milieu," emphasizing Incarnation and the Cross. The final retreat of the series will take a close look at "The Human Phenomenon,” which is the culmination of Teilhard's scientific synthesis, connecting our humanity to that of Christ. Each retreat is independent, but the sequence is chronological, and taking the whole series will demonstrate the breadth of Teilhard's thought.
