SPIRE Yoga: Muscle Balancing Fundamentals
Overview
SPIRE Yoga: Muscle Balancing Fundamentals
In this free class, I'll introduce you to the SPIRE Yoga approach, where we use gentle, sustained positioning to restore muscle balance and relieve muscle tension caused by daily activities like sitting, driving, and repetitive movements.
We'll work with a variety of poses—some held for one minute or more to allow tight, shortened muscles to release and lengthen, and others focused on strengthening overstretched, weakened muscles. We'll target common problem areas—the hips, shoulders, neck, and back. Pose modifications will be offered to meet you where you are.
All levels welcome. Props will be available including mats, blocks, blankets, chairs, and bolsters.
Please note that this class will be video recorded for Yoga Alliance Certification purposes. However, you can situate yourself outside of the camera area, if you prefer.
Your Intructor: Mark Paskowsky
Mark is a semi-retired data analyst who is seeking his 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certification through the SPIRE Yoga School. Mark also has been trained by Lee Albert to perform Integrated Positional Therapy.
